European Railroad Discussion > September In SwitzerlandDate: 05/18/18 21:30 September In Switzerland Author: fredstout My wife and I are planning on spending the month of September in Switzerland. While we both have traveled a great deal by rail in Switzerland, we feel that there is still much more to see and do. We are asking for and are open to suggestions for trips, museums, fairs, exhibits, etc.

On September 1st, 2018 there will be an Excursion starting at Olten Station at Noon with a tour of the SBB Carriage Works then a late luncheon, followed by an Excursion and tour to the BLS Shops at Burgdorf(ex- Regioverkehr Mittelland). See the SBB Historic website for more details, in German or French only (Use Google Translate as needed) price 80 CHF. Book early if interested. https://www.sbbhistoric.ch/veranstaltungen-fahrten/kalender/sbb-historic-events/2018-09-01-denkmaltage-2018.html Next Saturday(May 26th) is an Open House at the SBB Carriage Works in Olten. Also in Olten is a play about the Great Swiss Railway Strike on 1918 on September 26th, also at the SBB Carriage Works. Some other suggestions for things to see in Switzerland is the Albula Railway Museum in Bergün on the Rhatische Bahn in Graubunden.
