Picture 1 - Station in Cochem. Although the station is now showing its years, the pub on the ground floor was excellent. Picture 2 - Class 01 Pacific on train to Koblenz. I'm filling in quite a bit of European history checking out the maps and such. Just ran across the relationship between Karl Marx and Trier. Spent a month there and somehow missed that.
The valley walls are also remarkable. In the Trier area the walls are not quite that steep but are now covered with vineyards. |
