Pictures from 50 years ago at Cochem which is near Trier.
Picture 1 - Station in Cochem. Although the station is now showing its years, the pub on the ground floor was excellent.
Picture 2 - Class 01 Pacific on train to Koblenz.
Picture 3 - One of the class 44 helpers waiting for an assignment.

Yes, interesting photos and stories. I'm filling in quite a bit of European history checking out the maps and such. Just ran across the relationship between Karl Marx and Trier. Spent a month there and somehow missed that.

The valley walls are also remarkable. In the Trier area the walls are not quite that steep but are now covered with vineyards.
