Team travel, Sunderland to Plymouth
Author: WrongWayMurphy

Today Sunderland is traveling to Plymouth to play my Plymouth Argyle squad at Plymouth’s Home Park. Were Sunderland to travel to the match by train, what would be the logical routing? Go Pilgrims!

If Sunderland were travelling today I would guess a coach would take them to Durham and then they would catch a XC train from Durham to Plymouth. It would probably call at Darlington, York, Doncaster (or Leeds & Wakefield Westgate), Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Burton on Trent (maybe), Tamworth (maybe), Birmingham New Street, Cheltenham Spa, Swindon, Bath Spa, Bristol Temple Meads, Taunton, Tiverton Parkway (maybe), Exeter St Davids, Newton Abbot, Totnes (maybe) and Plymouth. No direct service between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads for the next few weeks whilst the new four tracking is completed and commissioned, hence the diversion via Swindon and Bath.

The Black Cats would have come away happy, beating Plymouth 2-0
