European Railroad Discussion > 50s to PenzanceDate: 03/24/19 06:59 50s to Penzance Author: 86235 Yesterday saw the 50 Alliance and Pathfinder Tours run The 50 Terminator Phoenixed! railtour from London Paddington to Penzance and back to London Waterloo. Some 600 miles of class 50 haulage behind 50049 and 50007, both now in their new GBRf livery. It's exactly 25 years since the final 50 operated railtour in BR service, The 50 Terminator, which saw 50050 and 50007 follow the same route in reverse, starting at Waterloo and ending at Paddington. I took this at Bedwyn, some 67 miles west of London. They were in great voice having been slowed by the preceding Paddington to Bedwyn local, which was delayed crossing into the turnback siding by a Plymouth to Paddington express.

Paint them BR blue and could be much the same train. Didn't make them top and tail? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/24/19 08:55 by prrmpup. Date: 03/24/19 17:55 Re: 50s to Penzance Author: 4745 Great photo.
Any more to show of the train, which would have been a great experience. Lived in London 1984 thru 1989. Different times then. Graham. Date: 03/25/19 00:52 Re: 50s to Penzance Author: 86235 4745 Wrote:
