On 4/29/19 I was driving from Kosice, Slovakia to Oradea, Romania through northeastern Hungary after saying goodbye to 86235 in Kosice. 

1)  Class 431 on a Miskolc-Nyiregyhaza train at Szerencs. 
2)  Class 418 arriving Szerencs on a local - not sure of the destination.
3)  Both trains posing together before leaving town.

4)  Crossing gates were down just outside Nyiregyhaza, so I parked quickly and caught this Class 431 on a train to Zahony on the Ukraine border.
5)  Moments later this historic loco appeared deadheading - this is a NOHAB M61 class.  These were built in Sweden by a GM licensee in 1963, and are essentialy an EMD F9 in a different carbody.  They would sound very familiar to North American railfans.  M61.006 is one of 3 in MAV's historic collection.
6)  Class 431 on a train leaving Nyiregyhaza, passing NOHAB M61.006.

7)  Class 431 on a train departing Nyireghaza.
8)  Class 480 on a train arriving Nyireghaza.  These are dual voltage locomomotives from Bombardier built in 2011.
9)  Outside Debrecen, crossing flashers were going so I stopped for quite a display of dispatching prowess by MAV.  In less than 15 minutes, MAV sent 4 trains north from Debrecen on 2 tracks, crossing over in front of other trains, and threaded a southbound local freight through the mix.  First up was this train led by a Class 418 diesel from 1963.  This train was running "wrong main" from Debrecen, then crossed over onto the correct main with another train on the right hand main.

10)  Next up was this train behind a Class 431 running on the right hand main.  Note following train in distance on wrong main.
11)  Then another train behind a Class 431 approached running wrong main and crossing over.
12)  Next a Class 448 switcher that had been waiting on a siding with a cut of tank cars approached from the north.   These locos are from 1959.

13)  Finally, another Class 431 running on the right-hand main approached.  This was 5 trains in less than 15 minutes.

Duncan, that's a great set of native MAV traction (with the exception of the Traxx in #8). I certainly didn't see that variety at the other end of the country back in 2014.

Yes most of these locos with the exception of the Class 480 were all built in 1963 or earlier!  Quite a vintage power parade.
