Tighter seat pitch, no First Class, lesser food service, tickets must be purchased on the Internet. Competion for Ryanair.

My wife and I rode OUIGO Paris to Strasbourg a few years ago. Two hours and 15 minutes, with two (or was it three?) intermediate stops. Coach class seating, no first class, no cafe car, not on the train long enough to really worry about it. Train is a converted dasye duplex TGV. Return trip was standard TGV service on an older TGV Reseau single level set, direct from Strasbourg to Gare du Nord in Paris, just a hair over two hours. I didn’t find the lower cost version to be the least bit objectionable.

Best advice I can give though is to plan ahead, as SNCF offers some pretty attractive discounts for advance sales.

I took a Ouigo from Marne-la-Vallée to Montpellier a couple of summers ago -- no complaints. Lotsa families on board who were departing Disneyland Paris.
