European Railroad Discussion > UK train operators to pull out of Interrail after BrexitDate: 08/07/19 08:37 UK train operators to pull out of Interrail after Brexit Author: newtonville150 https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/aug/07/uk-train-operators-pull-out-interrail-brexit-eurail
The "Man in seat 61" is quoted in the article. Date: 08/07/19 10:48 Re: UK train operators to pull out of Interrail after Brexit Author: exhaustED Sounds like another particularly shat decision this side of the pond...
Date: 08/07/19 19:26 Re: UK train operators to pull out of Interrail after Brexit Author: GPutz A more relevant question is: will the posting of UK trains on TO have to move from the European board to the International board? Gerry

The U.K. is largely made up of the island of Great Britain and part of the island of Ireland. Islands are not part of continents. Simple 3rd grade geography.

Antarctica is a continent. Australia is an island. Australia is a continent. "Coastlines, however, do not indicate the actual boundaries of the continents. Continents are defined by their continental shelves." That's from the National Geographic, which trumps Grade 3 for me. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/08/19 04:10 by railsmith. I was taught it was more a cultural and ethnic boundry. Gerry

Nonsense, geographically the UK is in Europe. I know because I happen to live in both. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/08/19 07:58 by exhaustED. Very unexpected and positive news!
It seems that the government-run LNER was the first TOC to break ranks and announce that they would continue to work with Eurail. This, along with a massive public backlash, seems to have convinced RDG to back down. For once, pragmatism (and the passenger) win! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/08/19 08:58 by pennengineer.
