Fun on the Ffestiniog

Victorian Weekend on the Ffestiniog Railway in less than perfect conditions.

Double Fairlie Merddin Emrys leaving Tanygrisiau for Porthmadog on the Victorian set

Merddin Emrys leaving Tan-y-bwlch for Blaenau Ffestiniog, passing Linda in the siding.

The video is of the gravity slate train, always a gala weekend highlight. Was hauled up to Dduallt by Double Fairlie David Lloyd George, descending to Porthmadog by gravity, as on the pre-locomotive Ffestiniog

Along with its sister Welsh Highland Railway, this is one of the finest preserved steam railways anywhere in the world and should not be missed by anyone who loves narrow gauge steam.
