Traffic carried in Railway Consignments (1 40' or longer container or trailer, or 2 TEU or Swapbodies) percentage is versus 2017 traffic. Transalpine via Switzerland 535,777 +14.4 % Transalpine via France 3,281 - 11.0% Transalpine via Austria 35,486 - 3.8% Non-transalpine 351,870 + 37.9% Total 926,414 + 21.4% Hupac Ltd. has 100 stockholders 72% of which are Trucking companies or Logistics companies. 28% is owned by German Federal Railways (DB), Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), and Trenitalia (FS). Hupac provides the rolling stock and owns the train paths in Open Access, It owns some of the terminals and manages several more, owns some of their own road locomotives which are leased to BLS Cargo to operate Hupac's trains. Other Railway companies provide their own locomotives and all Railway companies provide their own Drivers (Engineers). Hupac owns ERS Railways, which in turn owns 47% of Box Express Railways. Hupac owns 25% SBB Cargo International, which operates in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland (transit traffic and export/import only), and Italy. |
