European semaphore signals at Expo 86, Vancouver,.

An interesting little outdoor display at Expo 86 in Vancouver BC in 1986 were these German semaphore signals which were attached to a small interlocking plant that visitors could operate. The signal on the left was a distant (fore signal translated from German) while the one on the right is a home signal . In North American terms, the left would be an approach signal (intermediate) and a control signal (absolute). A surprisingly popular display.
