As a follow-on to my posting of streetcars, we took the train from Lisbon to Porto and return.  It was quite pleasant, though the scenery on that route, unlike some in Portugal, was not particularly noteworthy.  Equipment was good and trains were on time.  And again, I can't say enough about how friendly and welcoming we found Portugal to be.

First set of photos is of the overnight train in from Madrid (the original photo is vertical format -- is there a way to rotate on TO?).  Next is exterior and interior (1st class) of our train to Porto, and finally a regional train.
