Switzerland, Part 3, Luzern to Zurich, 1991
Author: thebluecomet

While making our move from Luzern to Zurich, I made a few stops along the way.  I am posting things in the best order I can recall.  There are a few locations I am not certain of.

1. A few miles (km) east of Luzern is the small town of Meggen.  A current image using Google street view shows this side of the building has been modified a bit.

2. & 3. The next town I stopped at was Kussnacht.

4.  This one I do not know where it was taken.  Any help is appreciated.

5. Also Kussnacht.

Next stop was at Arth-Goldau.  Quite a busy place.

Goldau also is a terminus for the Arth-Goldau Rigibahn Railway.

Since your trip, the Rigibahn narrow-gauge station at Arth-Goldau has been revised to accommodate two tracks, which end before the covered platform shown in your last photo. Much of the area where the train is standing is used for a shop selling refreshments and souvenirs.

The two cars identified in your photos (13, built 1954, and 22, built 1986) are still in use.

Here's an alternate view of Arth-Goldau, taken from atop Mount Rigi in June 2016.

WPAMTK:  I did a "dehaze" in Photoshop of your photo; seems pretty clear.  May I post it  here?

Thanks for the photos. I’m a long way from my references so can’t yet help with detail.

Well, taking a chance,  I de-hazed this photo from wpamtk.  Hope that is all right; will delete if requested.   It's such a good photo, with so much detail.  I'm having a lilttle fun tracing passenger shelters and ramps.
Thanks, Norm

Thanks for your effort. Considering where I was, there was plenty of room for "haze." Here's a couple more you can work on, from the same vantage point but more in the direction of Lucerne.

Very nice! As you can see, there's more to railfanning on Mount Rigi than just riding the train up.
