European Railroad Discussion > BLS RoLa Freight Train Strikes a Collapsed BridgeDate: 04/03/20 10:40 BLS RoLa Freight Train Strikes a Collapsed Bridge Author: SOO6617 A BLS operated Rolling Highway train stuck a collapsed overbridge shortly after leaving its terminal in Freiburg-im Breisgau, in the Southern Germany. The train is operated on behalf of the Swiss company RAlpin AG and was destined to a terminal at Novara in Northern Italy. The accident happened while the bridge was being prepared for dismantling over the coming weekend, when a concrete pillar fell across the track. The locomotive Engineer was killed and two Truck Drivers riding in a passenger carriage coupled behind the locomotive were also killed and others injured. The accident happened shortly after 7pm yesterday April 2nd.
