European Railroad Discussion > Sunset Semaphore

Another little outing this afternoon after work.... to catch this northbound light engine move about ten minutes south of Shrewsbury in Shropshire near a little village called Dorrington. The loco is a Network Rail (UK government) owned class 97 (class 37) and it did an out and back run from Shrewsbury to Worcester via Hereford.
It's named 'Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways' and carries the standard (very subtle) paint scheme of Network Rail...

Yes - that is a very nice location. We never get those class of 37s over here in Yorkshire! I went out for a cycle ride to Heaton Lodge for the daily biomass train to Drax. Chris uk

Very nice composition Chris... those biomass trains are quite impressive. My parents live in Huddersfield and have seen a lot of these in recent weeks, although the trains do revert to the Calder Valley route rather than the Colne Valley sometimes.
