European Railway Stations Part 26
Author: andersonb109

Another London Station....Marylebone. Originally built for the Great Central Railway, it was nearly destroyed after that railway's closure and mostly abandoned in the 1960's. Reborn as a mostly commuter station, it was bit of a ghost town on my first visit in 2015 when I walked over from Paddington to get this photo.

Marylebone is a very attractive station. As mentioned, it came very close to total closure, but fortunately survived. With the advent of The Chiltern Railways franchise, it has gone from strength to strength. It is now most attractive on the rail  side as well. Seen here with a Chiltern service to Kidderminster in 2014. Proper trains as well!!  chris uk
