This is one of those Swiss "hotel" cable cars, in Engelberg;  it closed in 2008.

We were at Engleberg just last year. Almost on this exact same date. We rode the cable car to the top. But didn't see the building in the photograph. We didn't have time to do the cable railway. Maybe that's where this structure is?

Bingo! We have a winner. Engelberg, Switzerland. This ran from town a little way up a hill to a hotel.

I was teaching in London at the time. It took 6 trains and a flight to get to Engelberg: 2 London tube trains and the Heathrow Express, flight to Zurich, train to Zurich central station, another to Lucerne, and a cog railway up to Engelberg.
