A mixed bag this week, but I need to start throwing a few static "roster" shots in, so here's one for dwatry.

1.  3723 - between Boxford and Welford Park, Berks., 4-23-56
2.  7024 Powis Castle - Bulls Lock signalbox 5-5-56
3.  35018 British India Line - Nine Elms 5-10-56

At the current rate, if I don't miss a week, the last posting of these will be December 14, 2021 --- but a few interesting scenes will carry us into 2022.  It's the week of Thanksgiving in the U.S. and while the current situation may make it seem not, the fact is that we all have quite a lot to be thankful for, not least the real prospect of a vaccine that may let us get on with our lives.  In the meantime I hope you will all continue to take the necessary precautions and stay safe.

35018 is indeed a fine looking locomotive. Looks like it was built for both speed and power!

Excellent, another wonderful collection of GWR passenger cars behind Powis Castle and that shot of British India Line is just perfect. I've a soft spot for 35018 as I sailed on the British India Line twice as a school boy.

Another beautiful set, Gordon -- thanks. Like them all (but of course I have some partiality for the 35018). Have to agree, the Merchant Navies were some of the best-looking Pacifics anywhere.

And as luck would have it, British India Line (with air-smoothed casing still in place) is one of the engines depicted in the Wikipedia entry, SR Merchant Navy Class: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR_Merchant_Navy_class.

Great photo at London Nine Elms locomotive depot of 35018 - only 3 months after its major rebuild, the first Bulleid Pacific to be so modified.

35018 is still around and has been in main-line operation this year. Next spring it has been optimistically pencilled in to haul a segment of the Great Britain XIV tour - https://www.railwaytouring.net/the-great-britain-2021
