Grade Crossing Accident in Gomadingen, Baden-Württemburg
Author: SOO6617

Fortunately no children were onboard the DMU when a large truck ran a road crossing in Gomadingen on Friday January 15th, 2021.
If it weren't for Covid-19 the train would have been full of children when the accident happened. As it happens only 3 people on the
train were injured, the Zugfuhrer(Conductor) seriously, plus the truck driver. Both the truck and single car DMU wound up on their sides.
The crossing has lights but no gates and is on a lightly used branchline. This news story has some photos;

I wouldn't be so quick to judge the motorist in this case. Have you heard the pitiful little squeaks they call crossing warnings--100 yards from the damn crossing? You wonder there aren't more collisions!
