Signs of Spring (in England)!
Author: exhaustED

Some much appreciated blue sky materialised today... which coincided with the Margam-Dee Marsh loaded steel train (South Wales to North Wales) coming north through Ludlow on the western fringes of England/close to the Welsh border.
The class 66 is in the paint scheme of DB Cargo customer 'Maritime Containers' and is named 'Maritime Intermodal Four'.
Note the 'swinghead' knuckle coupler on the front of the locomotive, in addition to the usual hook/buffer arrangement.

Nice, I saw it at Llanvihangel just after 2 p.m.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Colas logs in the light!

That's a very nice photo -- really makes me long for the day when we again can travel.

Thanks Gordon, with a bit of look we might not have to wait too much longer for freedom!

I got the East Usk to Crewe Mk4 familiarisation run yesterday, just before the sun disappeared behind the mountains, luckily it was running early.

Nice, I see they've repainted/vinyled the 67 to match the Mk4s.

That's an optical illusion I'm afraid, the DVT and loco are in TfW livery, the cars remain in the execrable Virgin East Coast livery

I meant they've painted them into the Red/White TfW from the previous blue/turquoise ATW livery. Afaik the Mk4s are not getting repainted but each of the DVTs was to get its own unique variation.

Yes, a sub class of 67s have been modified to operate with the Mk4s and reliveried, the DVTs are ex-LNER so never wore ATW aquamarine. TfW are apparently going to use the DVTs as mobile billboards for charities, three have been identified, the fourth is subject to a competition.

Which is a nice touch I think, and something a little different for a change
