European Railroad Discussion > A design iconDate: 04/22/21 15:12 A design icon Author: 86235 Not too long ago we did design attractive looking trains, luckily some are still in service today. These were taken yesterday at Newport and Parson Street, Bristol.
1: My first ride in a Castle class HST, I only went three stops but it reminded me how classy the Mk 3 HST trailers are, even with the First Great Western seat density. 2: Another GW mini HST on the 13:00 Cardiff to Penzance long distance local service. Parson Street and its neighbour Bedminster are two of the small number of stations where these trains don't routinely stop. 3: And finally two BR design icons in one, the full size XC HST is on the 1S51 12:27 Plymouth to Edinburgh (arr 21:09) whilst DC Rail's 60046 William Wilberforce is waiting to leave Bristol FLT on 6Z24 to Willesden. Until 2017 DC Rail was part of Ed Ellis's Iowa Pacific empire, it's now supported by the civil engineering contractor, Cappagh Group. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/22/21 15:47 by 86235. Nice shots; at least we still have some HSTs and those 'Castle' sets can really shift! Posted from Android Date: 04/23/21 09:02 Re: A design icon Author: King_Coal I like how those GWR HSTs look. Very classy. Thanks for sharing.
