Equipment Involved? was: Derailment in German Alps

What type of passenger equipment was involved? Was it electric, push-pull or DMU? Do these trains sets have active-tilt tech?

In the photos, one end is upright and derailed. The other end appears to be on the rail. Which way was the train going?

Look's like electric push pull operation and I'm suspecting the cab car was leading, so the loco was in push mode. Basing that on the cars being pushed together from the locomotive end.

To soon to tell exactly what caused the accident. According to postings on Dreschiebe Online the accident happened on a large fill with no switches nearby. Train was RB 59458. The consist was a Class 111 electric locomotive and 5 doubledeck coaches.

Pretty sure PTC would have no effect either way with this. PTC does not have anything to do with preventing simple coming off the track type train derailments.
