A year before the Pandy hit, I happened upon an event in Bury England ( just outside Manchester)
that I will forever remember, as it was a wonderful day.  Small steam and diesels engines descended upon
Bury for the weekend and ran excursions in and out of the station, usually two to three coaches per train.  

These two lokies seen here under the overbridge ended up doubling together with about 5 coaches.  
I seem to recall a local rail fan calling them  "Teddy bears" ?

I was able to speak to a lot of local train enthusiasts and drivers, even got a short cab ride in one
steam engine just because the driver liked the way I spoke (I speak Texan).

I took lots of photos but just wanted to share the memory here and encourage any UK folks or visitors
to search out his event the next time it comes about.  It will be well worth your time.
