The C-AKv-Kupplung / Faiveley Transpact is normally used to couple onto iron ore cars. Those trains are too heavy for our normal couplings. In order to couple with normal chain-and-hook stock, the C-AKv has an chain that can connect to a normal hook. The yellow lever to the right is used to adjust the length of the chain. Wiggle room for a person is scarce... The "knuckle" style coupler with provision for "link and pin" style draft reminds me of those used in the US as the transition was made in the late 1800s. Thanks for posting.
