Some Random Vienna Shots
Author: dwatry

In late April 2022, I started a 3-week Eastern European trip in Vienna.   Railfanning the mainline railways in Vienna is somewhat tricky, as OBB has built several extremely long tunnels under Vienna, and extending well out into the suburbs, so freight trains and long distance passenger trains use these tunnels and are hard to see in central Vienna now.  The closest line to the center to see significant visible freight activity is the line to the southeast to Budapest and Bratislava.

1) OBB Desiro set on an S-Bahn (S50) working heading west from Westbahnhof after leaving Penzing.
2)  Eastbound S50 approaching Penzing.
3)  DB KISS set (former Westbahn stock) at Penzing.

Great gallery of classic European actors! I do like those Railjet and Regiojet schemes--thanks for sharing.

Excellent set. Nice variety, with trains, locations and a an operator (OBB) not often seen here on TO, particularly for freight service. Thanks!
