European Railroad Discussion > On the day of Queen Elizabeth's funeralDate: 09/21/22 07:53 On the day of Queen Elizabeth's funeral Author: 86235 After watching the service in Westminster Abbey I drove up to the coal washery at Cwmbargoed as I knew that DBC had run the bi-weekly 4V01 coal empties from Hope Cement earlier in the day. Someone hadn't checked with the coal company because the washery was most definitely closed and there wasn't a soul around. Consequently the empty 4V01 was sitting in the exchange sidings with the loco, 66027, shut down. I'm sure that DBC were bargaining on someone being available to load, because the return (6M77) had been manually activated in Network Rail's systems, which suggests they expected it would run. In the event it came back empty to Margam yard yesterday afternoon (20th). Why they didn't leave it up there and load yesterday or today I've no idea. All very bizarre.

This is an HTA coal hopper, weighs about 100 tonnes loaded. Date: 09/22/22 06:07 Re: On the day of Queen Elizabeth's funeral Author: Lackawanna484 Thank you.
