Hungary Part 3 — Budapest to Cegled
Author: gobbl3gook

It was a hot and dusty trip east from Budapest.

The train appeared to be sold out.  I sat on the floor of the last car, next to my bicycle.  No photos from the crowded interior -- I like to not impose on people, and not look excessively touristy.

A long train.  Moved at a good clip.

1), 2) and 3) engine shops, MOW yard?

4) Cute little rail buses.  There were a lot of these.  I gather you could go on a lot of little branch lines if you put your mind to it, and have a view out the front, sides and back!

5) Mainline train stations were really built for capacity!  And still very busy, even after 20 years of EU-funded highway development...

6) Lots of mainline tracks.  Newly rebuilt from the sun grade up.  .  Very impressive!

7) Track rebuilding.

8) I'm not sure of the details, I remember being on the last car, it was probably a push-pull operation.

Questions, comments, observations?
