Valencia FSL Yard
Author: 86235

Spending five days in Valencia this week mostly doing tourist things. But this morning I took myself off on a commuter train from Estacion del Norte to Valencia (Fuente San Luis), adjacent to Fuente San Luis Yard, where intermodal trains are staged before being tripped into the port complex. There's a road bridge at the opposite end of the yard to the station, which takes about 20 minutes to walk to. From there you get a good view of the switching operations which are carried out by Adif, the Spanish rail infrastructure provider, on behalf of the Freight Operating Companies. The switchers are class 300, built domestically with EMD components, including an eight cylinder 645 series engine and flexicoil trucks.

Love the coverage, hate the graffiti.

Thanks yes the graffiti is pretty universal, especially on freight locomotives.
