I have Greek inlaws in Athens and Thessaloniki (fortunately none were involved).
Is anyone here familiar with what (if any) kind of signaling system they had on that line? I'm curious how this could have happened and the news reports aren't giving me much information. -Andrew L. Date: 03/02/23 10:43 Re: Fatal accident in Greece Author: TAW chessie_the_cat Wrote:

There was a similar collison in Spain 20ish years ago in which the operator couldn't get a signal for the passenger train (because of a train coming the other way) and hand signaled the passenger train through the plant. Unfortunately, none of the news reports have any info about these technical operational details.
