Swedensday Extra!: Göteborg Edition
Author: NMlurker

I spent less than one hour in Göteborg (Gothenburg) on my panicked Plan B transit from Oslo to Stockholm. I transferred from the Vy service down from Oslo to the MTRX service up to Stockholm. While on the platform waiting to board the MTRX train a rather unusual train rolled in that I grabbed a shot of as it arrived. I was fascinated by the white, completely unmarked Vectron locomotive on what turned out to be a Flixtrain. Flixtrain and Flixbus are low-cost transportation operators across Europe.

1. At 6:05 PM, June 11, 2023, a four-car Flixtrain arrives in Göteborg with service from Stockholm. There are up to three of these per day but I never saw one in Stockholm.

2. The Flixtrain cars are mostly neon green, you can see the reflection to the left of the locomotive and just a bit of the green behind the locomotive. Of course, the locomotive had the required coating of smashed bugs on the nose. I wish I would have looked at the side sill for any owner information. Trust me, the side of the locomotive is solid white.

Locomotive 243-221 belongs to Beacon Rail Leasing S.à.r.l of Luxembourg.
To find the owner of most leased locomotives in Europe look for the Vehicle
Keeper registration on the solebar of the locomotive. The solebar is the
continuous girder forming the bottom of the Carbody (below the bottom of
the entry doors). On this locomotive it should read "SE-BRLL" indicating the
locomotive is registered in Sweden and Beacon Rail is responsible for
maintenance.

Somewhat like a "five o'clock shadow".  Time for a shave.

Thank you for that information. I think I have seen some of these on passenger trains on the Czech Republic railcam that I have been watching lately.

It's a Siemens Vectron, with the Bombardier / Alstom Traxx becoming the standard locomotive type of Western Europe.
