European Railroad Discussion > GBRf's latest 69 - 69012Date: 07/12/24 11:35 GBRf's latest 69 - 69012 Author: 86235 69012 - a 56 with a 66 engine - has been released from Arlington fleet services at Eastleigh and it's a real stunner.
1 & 2: 69012 with its nameplate, Falcon 2 3: The prototype on which its based (actually a Heljan OO Scale model) D0280 Falcon. Falcon was a one off, built by Brush but fitted with two Maybach engines, like the class 52 Westerns, but with electric rather than hydraulic drive. It was perfectly satisfactory but as a non-standard one off it was withdrawn after 15 years of life and scrapped in 1976. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/12/24 12:13 by 86235.
