My favorite trams to ride and photograph during our time in Milan were the series 4900 Jumbotrams.  These are 3-section articulated trams, and they were built in 2 orders between 1976 and 1978 by Fiat and Stanga, and about half were rebuilt and air-conditioned between 2008-2019.   They are by far the most comfortable trams in the fleet to ride (for me, anyway), and seemed to be the fastest and most nimble of the trams to operate.    Some examples:

1) Unrebuilt car at Porta Venezia. 
2)  Rebuilt car on Line 3 coming through the gate at Porta Ticinese.
3)  Rebuilt car on Line 3 on Corso di Porta Ticinese.

4)  Unrebuilt car on Line 24 near Crocetta.
5)  Unrebuilt car on Line 12 on Corso Ventidue Marzo.
6)  Rebuilt car in advertising livery on Line 12 on Via Cenesio.

7)  Rebuilt car outbound on the 12-line at Monumentale. 
8)  Unrebuilt line 16-car at Duomo in the city center.
9)  Inbound rebuilt car on the 16-line on Via Tito Livio in the Porta Romana neighborhood.

Excellent coverage in a fine set - thanks, Duncan. As much as I like the Peter Witts, I have to agree that the Jumbos are very interesting and attractive as well. Looking forward to seeing them all when I visit Milan in the months ahead. Thanks for the advance look.

In photo #2, I wish that concrete barrier and the trash containers were someplace else. A very interesting locaotion and image.

train1275 - yes it was hard to frame that photo without the K-rail.
