That Swiss Heritage EMU
Author: dwatry

Following up on RNinRVR's post a few days ago about a Swiss Heritage EMU - when we were in Zürich in May this year I managed to catch what must be the same EMU at the platform in Zürich Hbf.   It's a Class RAe 4/8, and was built in 1935, and is now in SBB's heritage fleet.  They are also known as "Rote Pfiel", or "Red Arrow".  It was set up for table-service dining and looked like it would be fun to ride.  Unfortunately we had a full schedule already!
  1.  At the platform in Zürich Hbf.
  2. Posing with a newer cousin - an ӦBB Railjet.
  3. Such a nose!

Marklin does, and its site offers good information on the unit's history.  https://www.marklin.com/products/details/article/39260
