European Railroad Discussion > DB Schenker to DSVDate: 04/15/25 16:23 DB Schenker to DSV Author: ShortlinesUSA Simple question-- Does this sale involve any physical rail operations? I have had difficulty ascertaining so, as Schenker is referred to in news stories as DB's "logistics arm." I think that word is a bit overused in modern transportation, but I digress. Logistics can be anything from arranging cargo loads to driving a truck. So where does DB's cargo rail fall in all of this?
Thank you for helping bring me some clarity! Mike Derrick Posted from Android Date: 04/15/25 17:10 Re: DB Schenker to DSV Author: SOO6617 ShortlinesUSA Wrote:

The railfreight arm has been known as DB Cargo for awhile now. I believe that untangling the Drivers from DB Regio and DB Cargo would reduce the efficiency of both as various contracts change. It will be interesting to see how thisĀ affects Kombiverkehr and DUSS (Deutsche Umschlag auf Scheine und Strasse). Two joint ventures that were owned through the Schenker subsidiary. |
