European Railroad Discussion > Public Transport in MarseilleDate: 05/10/25 09:30 Public Transport in Marseille Author: 86235 Spending a few days in France's second city, Marseille. It's a really interesting place to visit, heaps of things to see and do.
The city sports two Metro Lines and three tram lines. The Metro cars are MPM76s (Metro Pneumatique Marseille 1976) and were built by a consortium now all part of Alstom. Interestingly at platform level it smells like every other rubber tyred metro system I've ridden - Paris, Montreal & Santiago de Chile. The interiors are definitely throwbacks to the 1980s The trams are a standard Bombardier type, the Flexity Outlook, although the styling is unique to Marseille. Edited 1 time(s). Certainly unique. Cool photos.
