European Railroad Discussion > Wednesday in SloveniaDate: 06/11/25 13:39 Wednesday in Slovenia Author: 86235 A short video sequence of some of today's trains on the Koper to Divaca Line which climbs the Istrian Karst on gradients of almost 3%. Taken around Podpeč, Zanigrad and Dol pri Hrastovljah. It was a grand day to go railfanning.
It's been very hot today, temperatures peaking at 28C this afternoon. Quite a few railfans around too, I met a French guy and his son from Annecy, they had been railfanning in Switzerland and Austria before arriving in Slovenia. I was also contacted by another railfan (German?) who had seen my social media post on a Slovenian Railfan FB page and asked if I had seen his aluminium steps, which he'd left at Zanigrad! I looked but couldn't find them. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 06/11/25 13:53 Re: Wednesday in Slovenia Author: NMlurker Very nice. It seems like you are in Slovenia every few months. I had never seen a Slovenian locomotive in the sky blue scheme. And I always love an open autorack train.

Probably no more than another year before the new tunnel route from Divaca to Koper is opened and traffic on the old route down the Karst will be substantially reduced. And the Alstom 363s will be on their way out. The blue forms the base of the (relatively) new corporate colours. All the Flirt EMUs & DMUs and the Pendolinos are in blue & white. Date: 06/12/25 09:37 Re: Wednesday in Slovenia Author: Latebeans They seem to run long trains by European standards.
