European Railroad Discussion > Any freight through Bayeux? (France)Date: 06/15/25 03:12 Any freight through Bayeux? (France) Author: DJ-12 Good morning all. Currently in Bayeux with the family enjoying a visit doing non train stuff like the D Day beaches and great food. I did take an hour to pop down to the station to shoot some of the steady diet of modern SCNF passenger trains (we rode one over from Paris and it was stellar!). It got me wondering how much if any freight runs on this line? There were a few signs of some bulk and auto train operations leaving Paris but we never passed a single moving freight train that I noticed. There are also a few industrial sidetracks near the train station in bayeux that look pretty unused. I know freight ops in many parts of Europe are generally more limited than this states but was just wondering if anything does run this line at all west of Caen? Maybe at night? Thanks!
