Gettiing Rail Europe tickets to Apple Wallet
Author: DocJohn

Now that I have my reservations made and paid for, Rail Europe wants me to print my tickets at home?  Is that the only way to do the tickets.  What about downloading the tickets to my iPhone as I did for my Amtrak tickets?
Yes, I will get to ride trains, but all on the main routes, to meet business colleagues.  Not enough time to do side trips to ride locals such as the ones  to Frtizlar and the Giessen-Fulda local.

Thank you,

John

You should be able to upload them to the Rail Europe app. Rail Europe and Eurail are trying to get everyone to use their app and don't support Apple or Google wallet.

Thank you, Dutch Dragon.  Perhaps Rail Europe has not played nice with Apple, but the Rail Europe app I have on my iPhone 15 Max Pro will not let me add tickets in the same manner as my Amtrak app does.  Looks like the only way is to BOTH print paper copies from my PC and do Print to PDF, and then email the PDF copies to my iPhone and save to Files.

I've just bought a combination of Eurostar & DB tickets from RailEurope and on the app it says:

"You have 6 print-at-home tickets for the following bookings. Please print your tickets before travel"

To be honest, I can't remember the last time I've had a paper ticket in Europe. Everything is either in the appropriate app or the conductor scans the QR code directly off my phone or laptop.

It may be that many in the US have problems doing anything with their cell phones beyond using them as mobile phones.

I've not had good luck buying tickets via Rail Europe as I don't care for their timetable/interface, so usually buy them direct from the railway.  I've found TrainLine easier to use, as far as that goes too.

Absolutely. You get better information and the tickets are cheaper directly from the railroad.
