Europe's First Driverless Train in Czech Republic
Author: milepost20

France 24 is reporting on the first driverless passenger train operating in an open
environment in Europe(as opposed to closed environment metro systems) with Czech
private operator AZD:
https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20250805-czech-driverless-train-hits-open-track

The article does not specifically name the rural branch it is operating on but after some
research I suspect Lovosice-Most on timetable line 113.  The train is carrying revenue
passengers but Under current legislation there still must be one supervisor/driver
on board to monitor operations and testing.

Brief mention is made of the driverless operations in Australia(massive iron ore trains
in the Pilbara) but these operate in extremely desolate locations far from population centers.

"Edita" has already made an emergency stop to avoid hitting a herd of sheep and slowed down to
let a hare cross.  Clearly a conversion from one of those familiar Czech two axle railbuses.
