European Railroad Discussion > Eurostar to go Double DeckerDate: 10/22/25 15:34 Eurostar to go Double Decker Author: milepost20 Eurostar has announced an order for 30 new trains from Alstom based on the
Avelia Horizon platform. There is an option for an additional 20. The first trains would enter service in 2031. Eurostar has a need to replace the 26 trains it inherited from Thalys and the remaining firat generation e300 sets. All will be maintained at Temple Mills in London. The following link from the BBC does bring up the concerns over capacity at Temple Mills: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz6n1w80z1zo SNCF has 115 Avelia Horizons on order(100 for domestic services and 15 for trains to Italy) with the first about to enter service.
