1. VR Dv16 #2040 is the highest numbered of the 27 units in the class.
2. A marker was in the knuckle coupler of a Russian tank car at the rear of a train ready for departure.
3. At the other end of the freight train was an Sr2.  I never saw an American-style trailer on a flat car (TOFC) in Finland, but occasionally I did see this configuration of a 3-axle truck and a four-axle trailer.  The blue truck is probably empty.  Lapin Kulta (Lapland Gold) was a beer brewed in Tornio about 750 miles north of Turku.  I’ve had quite a few.  With gasoline costing 6 to 7 US dollars per gallon in 2004 (I don’t know what diesel cost) it was probably the most cost-effective way to transport the truck, and only local drivers were needed.

4. In the same train as pictured above was this mining dump truck (I think it was built in or near Turku) on a Russian depressed-center flat car.
5 & 6. VR cars were at the front of the train and Russian cars at the rear.  This VR 2-axle flat car was equipped with both VR hook and link couplers with buffers and Russian knuckle couplers.

7. VR train IC2 #139 led by Sr2 #3223 arrived on Track #7 passing a freight train led by two Sr1s waiting to depart.
8 & 9. And there it goes.

13. Dv16 #2014 also had this lubrication device.  I looked at several other Dv16s and Dv15s and couldn’t find another like it.
14. Dv16 #2014 went into the roundhouse.
15. Åbo (pronounced like the double reed wind instrument: oboe) is the Swedish name for Turku.  Both translate to marketplace.
