European Railroad Discussion > Danish Talgos Enter Copenhagen to Hamburg ServiceDate: 11/04/25 09:48 Danish Talgos Enter Copenhagen to Hamburg Service Author: milepost20 Danish State Railways today started the use of their new Spanish-built Talgo trains on the
Copenhagen to Hamburg route. Initially one roundtrip will run daily with more to be added as additional trains are released for service. Sixteen trains are on order with eight now in Denmark. The final configuration will be a 16 car train(including a cab car) operated with one Siemens Vectron locomotive. With the cab cars still awaiting approval service will start as 15 car trains with Vectrons at each end. Eventually they will also be used on domestic services. Despite the Talgo 230 name top speed will be 200 km/h. Photos from the European-based site RailColorNews. Quite striking-looking trains!
