And now down to Lisbon even though I am not quite done with Porto. Lisbon has an extensive network of vintage trams, I believe Route 28 being the most famous. We had a special charter for which I was thankful when I saw how crowded the regular trams were.

4. And another one. Lisbon suffered an epic earthquake in 1755.

6. Not a tram! Lisbon has four funicular lines but after the tragic accident last September, all four have been shut down pending safety reviews. This is not the one that suffered the crash. Evidently, an idle funicular gets tagged. We were told that two of the lines may return to operation this summer.
