The trail I was walking continued north of Pasila Station and wound through the junction of the main north/south line with the west line to Turku.
1. The s/b VR Train 34, Repin (a Russian painter), from Saint Petersburg was led by Sr1 #3002.
2. A Sm2 EMU pair
3. A Sm1 EMU pair

4. There were/are two roundhouses immediately south of Pasila Station.  An older one is behind this one.  They have both been renovated into commercial spaces with a garden shop/café/stage on the turntable of the older one.  See Google Satellite and Street Views and pictures therein.
5. A n/b 12-car VR IC2 train was about to stop at Pasila Station.
6. Meter gauge tram #78 on the 7B Line passed in front of the station.

7. I peeked into the newer roundhouse for a view of the turntable.
8. Tram #58 was w/b on Helsinginkatu (Helsinki Street).
9. A s/b Sm4, Rabit, EMU pair arrived.

10. A roster picture of Sr1 #3002.
11. A crowd waited to board this double Sm3, Pendolino, train.
12. The double Pendolino departed n/b.

13. The n/b VR train #P33, Sibelius (a Finnish classical music composer), to Moscow was led by Sr1s #3047 + 1 more.
14. A s/b IC2 train led by Sr1 #3042 arrived.

15 & 16. Two pair of Lyhdykantajat (Lantern Bearers), designed by Emil Wikström, guard the entrance to Central Station.
17. They look muscular and stern but have been humanized as friendly railfans by an advertising agency.  VR used them on the covers of timetables and in TV and poster advertisements.  In 2010 I met a young Russian man in Bethesda, MD, who said he had worked on those adds for the advertising agency in Helsinki.
