1. VR Dv16s (diesel-hydraulic switchers) #2013 and #2014 were tied down by the roundhouse. These were the two lowest numbered Dv16s. All Dv16s were retired by the end of 2008. 2 & 3. A fast train (Pikajuna) arrived on Track #4 led by Sr2 (8,050 max hp, 6,700 max continuous hp) #3210 while two Pendolinos (5,400 hp tilting EMUs) were tied down on Tracks #2 and #3. The Pendolinos were probably here for maintenance. Gerry Date: 06/27/26 04:45 Re: Turku, Suomi (Finland), 8/11 & 13/04 Author: GPutz 8/13/04
4. No matter how you say it in Suomeksi (Finnish) or in Swedish, it’s: “Look out for the train” in English. 5 & 6. VR Sr1 (4,160 hp) #3027 was tied down on Track #2. All 112 Sr1 locomotives are planned to be replaced by the end of 2026 by 80 Siemens Vectron (VR Class Sr3, 8,600 hp) locomotives. 10. VR train #P143 arrived from Helsinki led by Sr2 #3238. 11. Dv16 #2031 pulled the loaded auto carrier out of #1 Track and coupled it to the east end of a string of passenger cars on Track #6. 12. Dv16 #2031 then coupled to the west end of the passenger cars and pulled them to the harbor station. Gerry Date: 06/27/26 04:51 Re: Turku, Suomi (Finland), 8/11 & 13/04 Author: GPutz 8/13/04
