1. My son, grandson and I take the pedestrian bridge between the SNCF Mont Blanc Station and this station. Unfortunately, the side girders of the bridge are about 6 feet high and there are barriers on either side of the walkway keeping pedestrians about 2 feet from the girders, so picture taking of the SNCF MBE trains is impossible.
2 & 3. CdFdM steam engine #8 is on display.

4. This is a view from the up-bound (u/b) CdFdM train of the north part of the immediate Chamonix area at 10:33.  There are no trains at the Les Tines Station.
5. At 10:35 the u/b train is in a passing siding and two SNCF MBE Z850 trains are meeting at the Les Tines Station.  See Part 2.

6 & 7.The u/b train meets a d/b train of power car #41 + trailer #51 at 10:37.

8. Also, at 10:37 the SNCF MBE trains depart the Les Tines Station.
9. At 10:52 u/b train of trailer #52 + power car #42 arrives at the Montenvers Station.

10. Seen just below the station, u/b trailer #53 + power car #43 arrive at 11:04 and
11. depart at 11:12.

12. At 11:43 u/b #52 + #42 return, so it’s a one-hour cycle.
13. This is the Gare du Montenvers with a boutique to the right and a bar to the left.
14. It looks like just a bunch of rocks down there, but under those rocks is the Montenvers Glacier.  In the first reference, below, there is a picture from the 1880s of the glacier when it was about up to that lower balcony that is a little right and down from the center of this picture.  There’s a lot more information about the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) in the first reference, below.
