Heat related derailment

Happened near Lewes in Southern England where the temperature peaked today at 38.1C, the hottest this summer.

Do you know if they had heat-related speed restrictions in place at the time? Seems like the derailment could have been much worse at a higher speed.

I rode the train today from Edinburgh in Scotland home to Abergavenny via Manchester Piccadilly. We ran at full speed throughout.

Sounds like Network Rail might want to talk to their friends in France, Spain and the US on how to handle hot weather problems with the track.
