Does anyone have recent experience with the Night Jet?  Thinking of doing Vienna to Berlin.  What type of accomodation to get for two adults?  On Amtrak 97/98, we get Room H.

I don't have a firm answer for you, hopefully others have better experience they can share.

My apologies if I am not correct here, but do I recall you or your travel companion having some sort of mobility limitation from previous passenger board posts? If so, that would be important to add.

I was able to look in the window of a Night jet in Munich just a few days ago. The three levels I saw were bedroom (largest), couchette, and then what looked like Japanese-style sleeping pods that younger individual travelers were climbing into.

All three of these options appeared to involve someone climbing into an upper bunk to sleep. There may be some sort of more accessible option I did not see. The bedroom appeared most spacious and inviting. But the configuration of the beds was bunk style with someone climbing to the top bed.

I hope that's even slightly helpful. Several of these depart from Munich and I get the bug to ride one every time I see them. I hope you're able to ride and enjoy the journey.

Thank you very much  Bedroom from Vienna to Berlin for 2 seniors is about US $750.  Of coure, one needs to have a hotel lined up in Berlin that will be ready at 8 or so the next morning.  When I could fly, I used to make arrangements with Marriott in downtown Frankfurt to be ready for me after the flight from Atlanta.  I am still waiting for my German clients to decide on meeting times and places.  We are still on Explora 1 off the Italian coast until the morning of 24 August.

What time of the evening was that?  I'll be in Munich for one evening four weeks from now and would like to have a look at these just as you have. Nice to be able to get some photos.
 

That was right about 8pm. I should have taken a picture of the info but I believe it was NJ211. Definitely bound for Rome, I remember that for sure.

In general, I typically see the NightJets on the platform at Munich Hbf after 6pm when walking around the station.

As information, the Steigenburger Hotel is just to the right as you walk out of Berlin Hbf.  Very comfortable, though whether you can arrange for a room to be ready early I don't know.
