The Great Orme Tramway is a narrow gauge funicular rail line that is in two segments. The lower segment has a buried cable and runs mostly in roadways, while the upper segment has an exposed cable.
The cars have trolley poles, however this route has no overhead wire.  It is located in Llandudno on the north coast of Wales.
There is a parallel skyway, which is called a cable car.
1. A downward tram approaches the base station, called Victoria Station. 
2. The tramway line runs at the side of a road for some distance.
3. A meet on the lower section.

Thanks for the reports and photos. Quite a while since I've ventured to Wales. Sorry to read about the crap service on the national rails. It's just the same here in Yorkshire. Regular cancellations by Northern and Trans Pennine, and even LNER.
Over the last 3 months, I missed many connections, and turned up to find my train cancelled, even though I've check before leaving home. chris uk.

Thanks Chris. 
Yes, we learned to start out early or mid-morning each day so that we could work out alternate plans when cancellations happened.
In each case though, when cancellations DID happen, we were never left stranded in the middle of nowhere; cancellations always occurred at stations/stops/depots.
More photo stories to follow; broken up into short stories.

Can somebody explain how this works in roadways? It would seem that the operator would have to be able to stop and start the tram in response to roadway traffic.
