Train: 1DVROT1-25 (Denver to Roper Yard, UT Trailers).

41 loads, 26 empties, 5238 tons, no footage listed.

3.5 HPT (horsepower per ton)

Crew: Bower, Bailey, Hendricks, Clark

Delays:

2:10 at North Yard Denver for "air test and held for arrival of ATK #6"

:09 at Plain "met train 2OACHF-23"

:40 at East Portal for "emergency brake application"

:14 at Tabernash - "ABS 669 red"

:30 at Granby - "inspect engine brake rigging on #1 truck unit 3059. Bent truck/wire rigging away from wheel"

:18 at Dotsero "to set out 5 empties"

:05 at Allen - "met 1GJNSM1"

:06 at Shoshone - "10mph MP 351"

:02 at Palisade - "25mph MP 434.6 to 434.9"

Arrive Grande Junction

Depart GJ with crew of Hickman, Woodard, Tucker, Hayes.

I don't see any problems here that had anything to do with horsepower.
Red signals, slow orders and UDE's are just stuff that happens everyday.

You had all that horsepower to make a good run and and everything else conspired against you...yes it happens all the time....get a one engine wonder and you'll poke along all day but never stop....

Right, nothing to blame horsepower for.  I was just saying in effect, all that horsepower and he doesn't get any benefit of it.

Not a lot of TOFC. Symbol was bigger than what the train really was. Mostly a DVROM

I figured that there was a pretty good amount of fill tonnage that got moved by this train.
The Rail Blazer it wasn't.

I had the pleasure to meet/work with/manage/enjoy time with a number of those former (now UP) DRGW folks at Roper.   DRG&W had (and still has) a reputation of quality management,  excellent front-line employees in all departments,  and good customer service.  The former DRG&W managers I worked with as UP manager were all class acts.  The level of professionalism and pride-in-work of the TE&Y folks was very impressive.   I wish I could have had those guys cloned.

I was working on the Rock Island when they established trains 55/56 Trailers from Chicago to DRGW Denver.
