Can't ID the gentleman, but the GM&O motor train is a gem.

I think there's a chance to member Lance Garrels (santafe199) may know. Send him a private message just in case he does not see this post. He could potentially be very interested in and knowledgeable about this image, as he is posting regularly the work of a number of Kansas-based photographers from the time period of this image. And this fellow may have been among them or known to them. He has also in the past posted a series of images of such a GM&O doodlebug trainset on a trip by some of those Kansas fans going across Missouri on the GM&O. This image might be related to that trip.
